GeneratePress is designed to work with GenerateBlocks. It also works well with page builder plugins.
The page builder plugin is GenerateBlocks, you could also use Beaver Builder
GenerateBlocks is a free plugin that enables you to build homepage layouts that look just as good as many top quality premium theme home page designs. And you can build these layouts in just a few minutes.
The premium plugin
The developer who makes the free theme GeneratePress, also sells a premium add-on plugin that makes styling his theme easy. Although this add-on plugin costs $49.99 I think it’s well worth the price because it enables you to style the header, footer and sidebars of his GeneratePress theme.
The GeneratePress premium plugin, combined with the free version of GenerateBlocks enables you to add hero sections above your pages and posts. As well as building grids for your blog page layouts.
