“I want to help you make your site look just the way you want it to look, without breaking the bank.”
The problem: there are thousands of WordPress themes available, both free and premium. But whichever you choose you’ll soon see a website and think I wish my site looked more like that.
The solution: use free or cheap tools to build your own simple, but elegant and stylish, webpage layouts.
Is this just for computer geeks?
No. The tools I use are designed to be used by ordinary WordPress users, not computer programmers. If you can do things like building navbars, making and formatting pages and posts, and using categories and tags, you should be able to follow along with the tutorials on this site.
What are the tools I use?
- GeneratePress free theme
- GeneratePress premium plugin
- GenerateBlocks free plugin
- Beaver Builder premium plugin
What can you do for free?
- Install the free theme, Generate Press.
- Make page layouts using the free version of GenerateBlocks.
What do you have to pay for?
The free tools I use are not capable of styling the header, footer and sidebar areas of GeneratePress theme. To do this I use the premium plugin which is designed specifically to customize the GeneratePress theme.
What will you learn on this website?
You’ll learn how to build simple but stylish modern web designs. I focus on elegance and simplicity, truly great design is much simpler than most people expect it to be.
I use the word elegant for a reason
Elegant may seem like a strange way to describe your web design, until you look at the true meaning of the word…
“Elegant: the quality of being graceful and stylish in appearance whilst also being being pleasingly ingenious, simple and neat.”
An elegant web site looks great, is easy to navigate and doesn’t need bells and whistles.
